Generally, people think of me as an artist. "This is Jen, she's an artist." My mother says I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil.
When high school hit, I suddenly began to get stories in my head. And I went NUTS for them, thus adding the title of "Writer and Novelist" to my internal resume. I spent the next several years bent over my keyboard, getting these story ideas down before I forgot them, working and reworking them until I was practically cross-eyed, and inevitably becoming obsessed with the characters involved.
Another several years later, and I've been writing, editing, illustrating, and growing these stories long enough. It was time to get them out into the published world, even if I had to go the self-publishing route (I've always wanted more control over the sitch anyway). So here I am, trying to do just that.
Oh, and I live in upstate New York where I am selling my art and enjoying the seasons (lifelong southwesterner here, so having an actual fall and winter is FASCINATING). I have no pets, but the boyfriend and I have a "hypothetical dog" named Reggie who we hope to make a real dog one day.
